Accessibility Statement
Ayurvedic wellness should be accessible to everyone. We're committed to ensuring InnerVeda works for all users, regardless of ability.
Our Commitment
InnerVeda is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We continually improve the user experience for everyone and apply the relevant accessibility standards to ensure we provide equal access to all users.
Standards
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities and more user-friendly for everyone.
The guidelines have three levels of accessibility (A, AA, and AAA). We have chosen Level AA as our target for the InnerVeda platform.
Measures We Take
- Semantic HTML: We use proper heading hierarchy, landmark regions, and ARIA attributes throughout the site.
- Keyboard Navigation: All interactive elements — navigation menus, accordions, filters, and forms — are fully operable via keyboard. You can navigate with Tab, activate with Enter/Space, and close menus with Escape.
- Screen Reader Support: Pages include descriptive alt text, aria-labels, and structured headings to work with popular screen readers including VoiceOver, NVDA, and JAWS.
- Colour Contrast: Text and interactive elements meet WCAG AA contrast ratios (4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text). We avoid relying on colour alone to convey information.
- Focus Indicators: Visible focus rings are provided on all interactive elements to support keyboard-only navigation.
- Responsive Design: The site adapts to different screen sizes and supports text resizing up to 200% without loss of content or functionality.
- Reduced Motion: Animations respect the
prefers-reduced-motionmedia query. Users who prefer minimal motion will see simplified transitions. - Structured Data: We use JSON-LD structured data (breadcrumbs, FAQ schema, site navigation) to improve understanding for assistive technologies and search engines.
Known Limitations
While we strive for full accessibility, some areas may have limitations:
- Some older content may not yet meet all Level AA requirements. We are working to audit and update these pages.
- Third-party integrations may have their own accessibility limitations outside of our control.
